Call for Submissions!

Northwest Florida State College’s own journal of literature and art, Blackwater Review, will accept literature submissions through Martin Luther King Day.

Short fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, one-act plays, and personal essays
will be considered.

Eligibility:

Any student enrolled in an OWC course for credit at the time of submission is eligible to enter.

Numbers:

A student may submit 3-5 poems and/or 1-2 prose entries.

Two poems submitted to the magazine may also be entered in the James N. LaRoche Memorial Poetry Contest if the writer is an undergraduate

Contributors will receive publication credit and two free copies of the journal.

DEADLINE: MLK Day each year.

Submission Process:

  • All submissions must be in Word (.doc or .docx) or Rich Text (.rtf) format.
  • Each document must contain only one piece. (Separate each poem/prose piece into a separate document.)
  • Click the START HERE link below to complete an online permission form.
  • When all fields in the Permission Form are complete, you will click Submit at the bottom of the form.
  • On the second page, you will click the email link and attach each of your pieces.
