Admissions
Educator Preparation Institute
What are the Program Entry Requirements?
- Complete all admissions and enrollment requirements
- Complete a Supplemental EPI Admission Application Form
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 in your baccalaureate degree program*
- Provide Verification of Bachelor’s Degree
- Request an official copy of your transcript from the college where your Baccalaureate degree was conferred. The transcript must be on paper, not electronic, because Northwest Florida State College must verify a cumulative GPA. If your college/university does not post GPA’s on transcripts, a letter on college/university letterhead stating cumulative GPA can be accepted.
- If you did not graduate from a regionally accredited college or university, click here.
* Students whose Baccalaureate GPA is below 2.5 may apply for an admissions waiver. See “Admissions Waiver” under Admissions on this site or contact Penny Cox, EPI Coordinator at 729-5322.
Waiting List Information
The EPI Program admits 30 students in fall and spring semesters. As soon as 30 admissions are complete, a waiting list is established. Students who are admitted have 2 weeks after registration begins to register and pay for the first EPI class. If they have not registered and paid by that time, their names will be removed from the admitted list and we will begin taking students from the waiting list.
Current teachers in Okaloosa and Walton County School Districts will receive priority placement on the waiting list in order to maintain employment and complete certification requirements. Teachers from other counties will be placed on the waiting list as the next priority.
What are Other Program Requirements?
